About Workington Town RLFC.

Workington Town are a highly competitive semi-professional Rugby League club in Workington, Cumbria and in 2024 we are competing in BETFRED League 1 division, just 2 divisions from the top tier of Super League!

Our Head Coach is Anthony Murray who was appointed at the start of the 2023 season and steered his team to a 5th placed finish and a play off position.

In addition to the passionate residents of Workington bringing home game attendance figures, on average, to over 1000 spectators per match in 2022 (a 25% increase since 2018), the Club has worked incredibly hard to increase exposure on our website, social media and digital based advertising channels.

In 2022 and 2023 our average attendance was over 1000 with a peak crowds of over 1500!

In 2024 so far we are averaging again over 1000 fans with an expected seasonal footfall due to the events at the club we expect just short of 30000 people to visit the Fibrus Community Stadium, a lot new faces and visitors due to the wide variety of events and sporting options available!

In addition to the Workington Town mens professional rugby team we also have:

Workington Town Ladies RLFC

Workington Town Women FC, formerly Workington Reds Ladies Football Club. The team run a first team and a reserve team operating in North West region nationally FA recognised competitions.

Another exciting development just announced is that Workington Town Women FC have partnered with Allerdale Girls who have now also renamed themselves as Workington Town Girls FC and there is now a full pathway from age 6 to open age including an adult team playing in the midweek Andrea Buggy Summer 9-a-side league!

Workington Town Netball - we have a team playing on the courts of West Cumbria on a Monday and Tuesday night! The digital exposure created by this team has been outstanding!

Overall there are now over 300 females playing for Workington Town's sporting umbrella!
