Biography
Jamie is an exciting half-back who can also cover the hooker role, he is capable of turning any game with his undoubted ability. Born in Whitehaven Jamie played a lot of his junior rugby for Kells ARLFC as well as St Benedicts RUFC. He came to the attention of Wigan Warriors and after signing for them he became a prominent player in their Academy set up which led to him making his debut in the cauldron of a Wigan - St Helens derby followed up by another appearence against the Widnes Vikings.
In early 2015 Jamie joined Town on loan and the move was made permanent when he signed a 2 year contract in September 2015. A regular starter Jamie has clocked up 70 career appearences and has scored 15 tries in the process including a memorable full length of the field effort v London Skolars which was voted Procam Town try of the year. 2017 was a good year for natural leader Jamie where he scooped the Player of the Year award and Players Player of the Year as well as The Ladies Committee Player of the Year and Travellers Rest Supporters Club Player of the Year.
Jamie signed a 3 year contract at the club mid 2018 season and is without doubt a key player and part of the club, highly rated by students of the game.
A top, top player who on his day is practically unplayable, his bulky physique is coupled with deceptive pace and near the line his combination of footwork and strength make him hard to stop.
2018 saw Jamie run in 13 tries and he also celebrated his 100th appearence versus Keighley with a trademark try!
In 2019 Jamie again was a key figure and picked up the Try of the season award for his fine individual effort against London Skolars at Borough Park, home of Workington Reds.
Good luck Jamie in 2022!
