Liam McNicholas has been on the radar of professional clubs in the county for a while due to consistently strong performances for Distington ARLFC and has previously trained at Town. He eventually took the decision to sign for Town in the pre-season of 2023. An aggressive ball carrier and equally aggressive defender Liam has a style fans will warm to. 

On signing for Town LIam had the following to say;

'It's a honour to sign and play for my hometown club who I've supported since I was a boy and as long as I can remember, the time is right for me to test myself at a professional level. This season I hope will be a successful one as a club, I like to aim high, I want to be challenging for top 4 and promotion, get in those play offs and see what happens in the one off games and ultimately get the club moving in the right direction'
