3rd July 2015

On the 24th March 2015 The Charities Commission granted Workington Town Community Trust (formally Community Foundation) Charitable Status. This award being granted is timely to Workington Town celebrating our 70 year anniversay this year.

To mark our success Sundays game against Leigh Centurions will be a celebration of the Trust and its achievements. As part of these celebrations there will be varying activities taking place in the lead up to Kick off and during the match.

From 12.30 - 2.30 pm fans can come along to the ground and find out what the Trust does out in your Community, speak with organisations we work with to see why they feel it is important to work alongside us and also to take part in some activities such as flick the stixs, Ball toss and other ball / game related activites.

Alongside this we will be running a tombola, raffle and guess Spike birthday. Children and adults alike are welcome to have their team colours face painted, have your picture taken with the magnificent spike or have a go at hooking a duck.

To reward our junior supporters we are offering the ticket deal of KID FOR A QUID where any junior supporter can come along to the Registration desk with an adult and pick up their match ticket for the pricely sum of £1

We hope all supporters will come along and join us to find out more about our successful and previously award winning Community programme and find out ways you may be able to get involved.

Caritas Care are one of the organisation supporting our event.

Caritas Care is a charity and specialist voluntary agency which has been finding families

for children and helping adopters on their journey to becoming parents for over 80 years.

In Cumbria alone there are over 80 children in need of a safe, secure and loving home

and our new ‘iadopt’ service is designed to encourage more potential adopters to come

forward and provide a forever family for the increasing numbers of children in care.

As a charity we also offer a diverse range of services and projects from our offices in

Barrow, Carlisle, Manchester and Preston.  Our services provide chances, choices and

opportunities for adults and children across Cumbria and the whole North West region.

We are delighted to be able to support and join Workington Town on Sunday 5th July

to celebrate their 70 years in the community and for the launch of Workington Town

Community Trust.

We shall be bringing our mobile information Hub so if you have considered adopting,

have any questions and would like more information or if you would simply like to

have a chat about adoption  please come and see Steve, Linda and Helen for a friendly chat.
