Fixture Amendment
Workington Town's away fixture at Swinton Lions on Friday 2nd April will now be played on Sunday 20th June 3pm Kick Off.

Derwent Park was hit by heavy snowfall overnight. Club staff have been at the ground since 8am and the pitch is playable under the snow. Staff are currently clearing the snow and at this stage the game will be on. Please monitor this site for Live updates.
STUART RHODES INJURY LATEST
There was some better news as it was confirmed that Stuart Rhodes will not require an opereation on his torn achilles tendon. This was confirmed after visiting consultants earlier this week. Althouigh he is likely to be out for around 6 to 8 weeks - this means he should be back in contention much quicker than was feared.

The only blackspot on yesterdays game was an injury to Stuart Rhodes in the last quarter of the game. It appears he has damaged his achilles tendon and is likely to be out for some weeks.

SWINTON GAME OFF
Following heavy overnight frost today's game has been postponed. A new date will be announced next week after discussions with Swinton officials.
Swinton Game is Off
A pitch inspection took place at 9am this morning, the ground is extremely hard and as a consequence the game has been called off.

Details of fixture re-arragement will follow.
SWINTON GAME LATEST
The Derwent Park pitch was fairly hard at 10:00 am today (Saturday) and very borderline. Club officials and local referee commisioner Cliff Hodgson had a further inspection at 2pm and the pitch was playable.

Another inspection will take place at 9am on Sunday morning, where we can take a view after any overnight frost, and hopefully confirm that the game will be on.

Updates will continue to be provided.

Warrington name squad for Saturday's fixture
Warrington Wolves have named a 23 man squad to play in saturdays fixture against Workington Town at Derwent Park 1pm Kick Off

In the squad are three members of the 2009 Challenge Cup Squad who featured at wembley. Lee Mitchell- Super League debut 19/8/07 - 26 appearances and 3 tries, Michael Cooper - Super League debut 2/4/06 - 37 appearances 4 tries, Tyrone McCarthy - Super League debut 14/8/09 - 5 appeanaces and 2 tries.

Alex Thompson - scored on his Super League debut v Harlequins in the last match of last season. Matty Blythe - Super League debut 14/9/07 - 19 appearances 2 tries.

In addition 17 year old twins Rhys and Ben Evans were part of the Welsh squad for last autumn's internationals when they were only 16.

Top GB BARLA star Aaron signs for Town
Workington Town RLFC have signed BARLA international centre Aaron Low.
The 21 year old who signed from Barrow Island last night will go right into the squad for sundays game against Whitehaven.
Carnegie Challange Cup Winners Warrington Wolves to Play Town
Workington Town are to play a friendly game against Carnegie Challenge Cup Winners Warrington Wolves at Derwent Park on Saturday 23rd January 2010.

Access to Derwent Park
Workington Town has been working hard with Cumbria County Council and local authorities to gain an access route to the stadium.

Anybody wanting to visit the ground must follow the diversion signs and use the Tesco slip road to access the ground, please exit the tesco roundabout and follow signs for Football Parking.

Under no circumstances should anybody try to access the ground via the bridge at the entrance to Derwent Park.
