Biography

Ex-Hensingham ARLFC amateur Gordon joined Town mid way through the 2017 season and impressed immediately in training and he scored a hat-trick on debut in the win at Hemel Stags. Gordon amassed 15 appearances in the 2017 campaign scoring 6 tries in total and also picking up 2 man of the match awards in an encouraging debut season in the pro game. Further evidence of the impact Gordon made when he joined the club was when he was named joint winner of the Young Player of the year award with Joe Hambley at the end of season presentation evening. At these awards Gordon also received the Eric Easterbrook award for being the most improved player over the season.

A tall, rangy and elusive back rower with a great work ethic Gordon doesn't take a backward step in the contact and all at Workington Town are delighted to have secured his services for the 2018 & 2019 seasons.

2018 was a mixed season for Gordon and a full pre-season saw Gordon in great condition and he roared into the season with strong early season performances including an excellent performance during the home defeat of Bradford Bulls until he unfortunately broke his leg and dislocated his ankle. A very bad injury which was expected to rule him out for the rest of the season. However his recovery went fantastically well and Big Gordon returned to the fold and established himself back in the squad.

A very popular and entertaining part of the squad.

Have a great season Gordon.
