LUCAS CASTLE WILL RETURN FOR 27'

Workington Town are excited to announce that Lucas Castle has resigned with the club for the 2027 season.

Workington Town RLFC are delighted to confirm that prop forward Lucas Castle has committed to a third season at the Fibrus Community Stadium, becoming the latest player to pledge his future to the club ahead of the 2027 campaign.

Lucas has established himself as a key member of the Town pack over the past two seasons, making 41 appearances and scoring five tries in blue and white. His consistency, toughness and work rate have made him an important presence in the forward line, and his commitment represents another positive step as the club continues to build for the future.

New Head Coach Brad Singleton was pleased to secure Lucas's services for another season, highlighting the forward's leadership qualities and the importance of having players who believe in the direction of the club.

"I'm really pleased that Lucas has committed to another year at Workington. Similar to Bear, I think it says a lot when players want to remain at the club and be part of what we're building.

"Lucas is a natural leader and someone who leads by example. He's a durable, tough forward who is hard to handle and consistently leads from the front. What excites me most is that I believe there's still more to come from him as a player, and I'm looking forward to working with him to bring that out.

"We had a really positive conversation about what next year looks like, how we want to play and the direction we want to take the club. Lucas was keen to be part of that, which is really important to me.

"As people will start to realise, we want players at Workington who genuinely want to be here, who believe in what we're trying to achieve and want to contribute to it.

"I've no doubt Lucas will play a big part in what we're trying to achieve next year, both on and off the field, and I know we will end up seeing the best of him."

Lucas's decision to remain at Workington reflects the commitment and belief that Brad wants to see throughout the squad as preparations continue for the new season.

With a strong presence in the middle of the field and leadership qualities that extend beyond his performances on the pitch, Lucas will be an important part of Town's plans for 2027.

We're delighted to have Lucas on board for another year and look forward to seeing him continue to make his mark in the blue and white.

Up the Town!
