TOWN SIGN AUSSIE TANNA FEATHERSTONE

The winger has signed on until the end of 2026!

We are delighted to welcome Australian outside back Tanna Featherstone to the club. Tanna joins until the end of the season and we'd like to thank the Workington Town RLFC Blue Knights Group for their support in bringing Tanna to the UK.

Tanna, 20, has been with Cronulla Sharks and South Sydney Rabbitohs but has arranged a release and opted to move to the UK with us. He arrived safely in Manchester this morning and will train tonight ahead of being in contention to play v Dewsbury Rams at the weekend.

Jonty on Tanna;

'We first looked at Tanna during the off season when we were recruiting but at the time we thought we were ok for wingers/outside backs, so we left it but continued to keep in touch.

Now that we've suffered some long-term injuries to Oscar Doran (Hamstring) and Spencer (HIA) and a recent HIA, that's taking longer than we thought to Alex Donaghy we decided to see if we could make the move happen. Ash contacted Tanna last week to see if he was still interested in coming to Town. He said he was and we had the deal done in a couple of days; it was made a lot easier with Tanna being a UK passport holder.

He's a winger who has some pace and brings energy with his carries and he can come up with some good reads on an edge defensively.

Tanna has played for Cronulla and Souths in the NSW Jersey Flegg competition, which is a very good level of rugby so comes with a good pedigree.
