Workington Town Ladies continued their outstanding start to 2026 with a superb 28–12 victory over Stanningley, extending their unbeaten run and making it two wins from two in the league campaign.

The latest result adds to what has already been a hugely encouraging opening to the season for Town Ladies, who continue to build momentum with every performance.

Coming into the game full of confidence, Town once again showed the quality, determination, and togetherness that has become a trademark of the squad so far this year. From the opening exchanges, the visitors looked sharp in attack and committed in defence, controlling large periods of the contest with disciplined rugby and strong work ethic across the field.

Town’s attacking play continued to cause problems throughout the game, with the side creating chances through quick ball movement, powerful carries, and excellent support play. Their efforts were rewarded on the scoreboard as they pulled away to secure another impressive victory.

Defensively, the team again showed tremendous resilience. Stanningley tested Town at times, but the squad remained composed under pressure and continued to work tirelessly for one another to maintain control of the match.

The 28–12 win means Workington Town Ladies remain unbeaten in 2026, a remarkable start to the season that reflects the progress and confidence growing within the group.

After reaching the semi-finals of the Challenge Shield and now opening the league season with back-to-back victories, this side continues to show they are capable of competing at a very high level.

There is a real sense of momentum building around the squad, and with each performance, belief continues to grow.
