DORAN CELEBRATES 250 GAME MILESTONE!

On Sunday, Jamie Doran took the field for his 250th career game.
Workington Town proudly celebrated a remarkable milestone this weekend as one of our own, Jamie Doran, reached 250 career appearances. This a testament to his quality, consistency and unwavering commitment to the game.
For everyone connected to the club, it was a moment of real pride to see Jamie hit such an achievement, with so much of that journey written right here in a Town shirt.
From the moment he first arrived in 2015, initially on loan before making the move permanent, Jamie quickly established himself as a key figure at the club. Over the years, he has become synonymous with Workington Town - a leader, a competitor, and a player capable of changing a game in an instant.
Now reaching 250 career games, including well over 200 appearances for Town alone, it underlines not only his longevity in the sport, but also the consistency he has delivered season after season.
A proud Cumbrian, Jamie’s journey began with Wigan Warriors, where he made his professional debut before returning home to make his mark with Workington. From there, he developed into one of the most influential halves in the competition, playing a pivotal role in some of the club’s most important moments in recent years.
His impact at Town has never been limited to just performances on the field. A former captain and natural leader, Jamie has consistently set the standard with his attitude, toughness and desire, all qualities that have made him a fan favourite and a respected figure in the dressing room.
The 2017 season stands out as a defining year, where his performances earned him a Player of the Year recognition, which is just one example of the influence he has had in a Town shirt. Whether it’s controlling a game with his kicking, taking on the line, or digging deep in defence, Jamie has always delivered when it matters most.
After a spell away with Whitehaven RLFC, Jamie’s return to Workington only reinforced what he means to this club. His experience, composure and understanding of what it takes to represent Town have been invaluable, particularly for the younger players coming through the squad.
To reach 250 career games in rugby league is no small feat, as it requires resilience, professionalism and an incredible work ethic. Jamie has shown all of that and more throughout his career.
Everyone at Workington Town - players, staff, and supporters, would like to congratulate Jamie on this outstanding achievement.
Jamie, thank you for everything you’ve given to this club over the years. Reaching 250 games is a special milestone, and to have shared so much of that journey with Workington Town makes it even more meaningful.
Here’s to many more in a Town shirt.
