TOWN SIGN OUTSIDE BACK & HOOKER

Fulton & Lupton make the step up!

We can confirm the signings of outside back Spencer Fulton from Cockermouth Titans (left) and hooker Jude Lupton (right) pictured here with Town head coach Jonty Gorley.

Both trialists have impressed Jonty and the coaching staff and here's what he has had to say about the two young prospects.

Spencer Fulton.

'A lot of credit must go to Liam McAvoy regarding Spencer, as it was Liam who "tipped" me up about him. He said he's a fit lad who's tough and can defend a bit, he wasn't wrong!
Spencer was probably our best player in our first game at Barrow, defensively very good for his first game straight out of the amateur game and he scored a great try too!
Through pre season Spencer has impressed me with his attitude towards training and his fitness, he was in the top 3 or 4 in all the running tests.
One thing I know is when Spencer puts on a Town shirt he'll give his all and he won't let me down.'

Jude Lupton

'Jude came pre season training with us as a "favour" for his dad, Graham, I coached Graham at county level, along with Jude's uncle Paul and also coached his other uncle Peter, at Town a few years ago, so Jude comes with a great RL pedigree from the well known Lupton family including his grandad "Father Dumpy".
So it was just for some experience really then go back to Millom and keep an eye on him.
Although after seeing him through pre season and how he fit in and was up to speed with everything we done fitness wise I rewarded Jude with a run out at Barrow Raiders, that's all it was going to be a reward for his efforts. My mind changed after seeing him play, he didn't look out of place, defensively very good, he didn't miss a tackle against a good, big Barrow side and his service from dummy half was on the button both sides.

Jude will benefit learning from the likes of Callum and Jamie and when called upon will not be out of place in a Town shirt.'
