Warrington prop Noah High and Jake Carter in at the Fibrus!

We are absolutely delighted to confirm the season long loan signing of Cumbria prop Noah High from Super League side Warrington Wolves and we have also completed the much sought after Cumbrian half back Jake Carter on a 2 year agreement.

High was right at the top of Jonty Gorley's wish list and after a patient pursuit High penned a loan deal this week and joined his new teammates for Thursday's training session. 

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank Gary Chambers at Warrington Wolves for his assistance in getting the deal done. 

Jake is obviously well known locally after stints at both other Cumbrian clubs, whilst Noah, originally from Ulverston impressed last year for Jonty and knows a number of our squad already, we expect both will settle in quickly and are available immediately. 

A delighted head coach Jonty Gorley had the following to say about both players:

On Noah High....

"I had Noah High last year on loan from Warrington and was instantly impressed in how he plays the game.
He's a young, athletic front row who carries really well and has plenty of intent when he's defending. 
We were going to get Noah later on in the season but his circumstances changed and became available now so I jumped at the chance. I can't wait to work with Noah and see him play for Town."

On Jake Carter.....

"Adding a player of Jake's calibre was a no brainer for me, I know what he'll bring to the team, he's got experience of the championship and is being talked about at SL clubs and I understand why. 
He's a big fit lad for a half, very vocal and his all round game is real quality, topped off with a great left foot kicking game and he's also an accomplished goal kicker.
It's players like Jake we need to bring in if we're serious about competing in this league."
