CARL FORBER ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT FROM PROFESSIONAL RUGBY LEAGUE

Town Hall of Famer and record points scorer calls time on a fantastic career!
Workington Town RLFC would like to inform all supporters of Workington Town and Rugby League that our record points scorer and Hall of Fame inductee Carl 'Buffer' Forber has confirmed that the 2024 season will be his last as a player in professional Rugby League.
With Carl at the age of 39 playing some of the best rugby of his career this has been an incredibly difficult decision for him and after discussions with his family, the board and the likely outcome that the game v Newcastle Thunder on Sunday will be the last home fixture of 2024 we wanted to share this news ahead of the weekend.
It is a testament to his dedication and his professionalism that Carl has achieved so much and played for so long at such a consistently high standard.
We hope that supporters, his family and his many friends could join us in celebrating the career of Carl Forber on Sunday.
We urge you all to come along and show your appreciation for Carl's efforts and achievements in the blue and white of Workington Town RLFC.
A true Town legend in every sense and the universal respect for him across the game speaks volumes and that continues on as his wishes are for Town to finish strongly and secure a play off birth being at the forefront of his thoughts going into this weeks game.
Early bird match tickets can be purchased in the tickets section of this website www.townrlfc.com
Kids go free, Adults £15 and Concessions £12 until Saturday 6pm.
We hope to see you at the Fibrus Community Stadium as we bid a home farewell to a great player and person!
