Garry Mounsey Joins The Board Story in brief:

Workington town are delighted to announce that Garry Mounsey has been appointed
as a Director of the club.

Garry's appointment is designed to compliment the existing director structure of
the club.

Garry brings with him a wealth of experience in the rugby league world, from
community to professional and youth through to senior levels - on and off the
field.

Having started his own playing career at Glasson Rangers he went on to tour
France with BARLA. Garry's potential as a professional was realised when he was
signed by neighbours Whitehaven and he went on to play for the club for 8 years.
Garry also played 8 times for Town.

Speaking on his appointment, Garry said "I Feel honoured and delighted to be
joining the board. I will put my heart and soul into it as I am very passionate
about the club. With all the brilliant work the board has done on and off the
field, the club is moving in the right direction and I intend to play my part in
helping that work to continue."

Following a successful playing career, Garry went into coaching and he coached
the Glasson Rangers open age team for 4 years.
He is also a successful community youth coach - initially starting out with
Glasson Rangers U8's who he worked with and developed right through to U16
level. A team that included several players who have gone on to represent BARLA.

Over recent years Garry has been no stranger to Derwent park where he has worked
as the Scholarship Manager for the last 5 years.

Through his driving school business - Drive Safe, Garry is also a keen sponsor
of the club at both Youth and Senior levels.
