On the field, our men’s team now competes in the Betfred Championship, up from League One last season after finishing second overall  and making play offs in 2023-24 - a clear reflection of our ambition, performance, and momentum under head coach Jonty Gorley who is in his 2nd year at Workington Town on a 2 year contract.

Off the field, Workington Town delivers exceptional reach and engagement across digital and live audiences. Our social media community continues to grow, with 14,000 followers across Facebook and X (Twitter), 3,000 on Instagram, and 500 on YouTube. An average Facebook post reaches 5,000–8,000 views, with standout content exceeding 40,000 views, giving sponsors consistent and visible brand exposure.

Our digital presence extends further through our website, which attracts approximately 150,000 views per year from 6,000 unique visitors, alongside a GDPR-compliant email database of over 1,700 active subscribers, enabling direct and targeted communication with engaged supporters. All of this is supplemented by our expert media and marketing team which ensures we showcase your brand to our passionate 35,000 social and digital audience! 

Matchdays provide valuable face-to-face exposure, with average home game attendances exceeding 1,000 supporters, reinforcing strong community ties and local brand recognition, and most recently we hosted a Jamaican World Cup match in late 2022 and that also attracted a crowd of 3000, the sporting appetite is there to watch quality local sport!

The league format is now confirmed of 24 fixtures, 12 home, 12 away with a play off structure for those finishing 10th or higher with cup competitions to add with Town competing in the Challenge Cup and 1895 Cup!

Workington Town Ladies RLFC 

Workington Town Women FC, formerly Workington Reds Ladies Football Club. The team run a first team and a reserve team operating in North West region nationally FA recognised competitions.

Another exciting development just announced is that Workington Town Women FC have partnered with Allerdale Girls who have now also renamed themselves as Workington Town Girls FC and there is now a full pathway from age 6 to open age including an adult team playing in the midweek Andrea Buggy Summer 9-a-side league! 

Workington Town Netball - we have a team playing on the courts of West Cumbria on a Monday and Tuesday night! The digital exposure created by this team has been outstanding! 

Overall there are now over 300 females playing for Workington Town's sporting umbrella and our facebook audience split has changed by over 6% this year with female audience carrying 35% of our followers with men at 65%!
