LADIES RAISE OVER £5000 FOR CHARITY!

What an achievement by the squad and fans! Thank you!

Workington Town Ladies marked a truly special occasion on Sunday, combining a dominant on-field performance with a hugely successful fundraising effort that will make a real difference away from rugby.

The club’s first-ever charity fundraising event saw the Ladies raise over £5000 in support of Ewings Sarcoma and A.D.M West Cumbria.

The initiative was the central focus of the day, with the team wearing a specially designed one-off charity kit that was later auctioned off, with all proceeds going directly towards the cause.

Alongside the shirt auction, the event also included additional fundraising activity on matchday, with supporters, players and volunteers all contributing to what became a memorable community effort.

While the rugby itself provided plenty of entertainment, with Town recording a 74-4 victory over Rochdale Hornets, the result on the field was secondary to the impact made off it.

The match saw Town produce a commanding display from start to finish, but the biggest success of the day came in the form of the money raised and the awareness generated for a cause that means so much to those involved.

The club confirmed that the combined efforts from the shirt auction and matchday fundraising activities resulted in a substantial total being raised, underlining the strength of support from the Town community.

For the players, staff and supporters, the day represented far more than just a fixture in the calendar. It was an opportunity to come together and make a meaningful contribution to a cause close to the heart of the team.

The Ladies’ performance on the pitch reflected the spirit of the occasion, but it is the fundraising success that will leave the lasting legacy.

With the season now entering its decisive stages and a play-off place already secured, Sunday’s event served as a reminder of the club’s growing impact both on and off the field.

Town Ladies’ first charity day will be remembered not just for the rugby, but for the difference it has made.
