TOWN REWARD 6 TRIALISTS WITH PROFESSIONAL DEALS!

Opportunity knocks as hard work rewarded.

Workington Town can confirm that we have agreed terms with 6 of the trialists that were brought to the club ahead of pre-season by Head of Development Gary Hewer.

The players who have joined the club on professional contracts are:

Johnny Goulding, Prop, Community Club - Cockermouth Titans.

Adam Jackson, Half-back, Community Club - Barrow Island.

Dominic Smallwood, Half-back, Community Club - Seaton Rangers.

Zac Olstrom, Outside back, Community Club - Ellenborough Rangers.

Lee Postlethwaite, Outside back, Community Club - Millom ARLFC.

Jordan O'Leary, Back rower, Community Club - Seaton Rangers.

Head Coach Chris Thorman had the following to say about the signings.

'After having 16 local trialists take part in preseason training, I’m really pleased to announce that we have agreed terms with 6 of them to be part of our first team squad for 2021 and beyond. They have all enhanced the dynamic of the group, they’ve allowed us to have a lot more variety in our training methods and have all become very popular members of the group. Most of all it has allowed us to have much more competition for places, which is an absolute necessity as we strive for consistency in every game we are part of. Even though they’re all at different stages of their rugby league careers, they all deserve this opportunity and I look forward to working with them.'
