Welsh born Calvin Wellington signed permanently with Workington Town for 2020 after showing a lot of promise in a short term contract at the back end of the 2019 season at centre. A prodigious talent Calvin showed glimpses of that talent in various games before a knee injury sustained v Doncaster curtailed his season. A strong, elusive runner Calvin showed exactly why Town wanted him when he sliced through a gap to score in the 12-12 draw with Whitehaven leaving the defence grasping at thin air.

An enigmatic and likeable man Calvin was snapped up by St Helens and was the inside centre of Regan Grace who has gone on to show his worth at Super League level, Calvin has talent in abundance and harbours the dream to follow his ex-team mate back to the top.

His time at St Helens ended when Dragons, the top Welsh Rugby Union club signed him describing him as a 'freak talent' but ultimately it didn't work out and Calvin looked for a move back to league and Workington stepped in with the security of a deal.
