SUNDAY 19TH - Round up of all things Town with Head Coach Chris Thorman

Here is the link to the Facebook live chat today https://www.facebook.com/TownR...

For those not on facebook here is a general round up.

Chris and the club tried their upmost to retain the players who were brought in at the start of the year by coming up with solutions to the complications created by Covid bubbles and offered these solutions but we were declined by the RFL, the solutions were to allow cross bubble mixing to help players get game time when not selected to play first team games. Chris paid respect to the contributions of all the players who have left to the environment that was created.

Ahead of the upcoming game Chris suggested that the injury picture barring the long term injuries has changed for the better and without disclosing who is closing in on a return he is confident we will have more bodies to select from. Blain Marwood was ill ahead of the Hunslet game and within the game we had to cope with injuries to Matty Henson (deep cut to shin) and Gabe Fell (ankle) but Gabe was game enough to return to the action when Matty got injured.

Long term injuries Jordan Thomson (detached pectoral muscle), Steve Scholey (ACL reconstruction) and David Weetman (Broken Fibula, dislocated ankle and ligament damage) have all been successfully operated on and are beginning the early steps of the rehabilitation.

Elliot Miller was training well and closing in on a potential date to return but has had a relapse with his back injury.

Players can still be brought in from the amateur ranks and from Academy set ups and offers were made to prominent local players who have contract offers for 2022 to come in earlier but they chose not to at this stage.

Tributes were paid to our volunteer Covid team and ground staff and all the volunteers at the club and how great it was that we helped raise £6000 for MND Cumbria last week.

We hope that helps bring you all up to speed with club news, you will have also seen we have advertised an All Stars Rugby Ltd camp on 27th October and a Halloween Party on 29th October so get your places secured now.
