STEVIE SCHOLEY SIGNS EXTENDED CONTRACT UNTIL 2024!

Ex-Maryport ARLFC man leads from the front on and off the pitch!

Workington Town are extremely pleased to announce that Stevie Scholey has signed a contract extension that will see him through until the end of the 2024 season. Stevie previously signed a 3 year deal until the end of 2021.

Stevie turned professional in 2015 after impressing the club in preseason and joined from Maryport ARLFC. As a previous BARLA Great Britain International, Stevie has now clocked over 100 appearances in his time at Town and has become a mainstay of the pack at prop, although his superior fitness levels allow him to also cover second row when required. 

Head coach Chris Thorman said '' We’re really pleased to have Stevie around the place for the next four years. He’s been nothing but a model of consistency in my time at the club. He’s improved significantly in the last 18 months and will continue to do so in the future. He’s also grown as a leader within the club, who is respected on and off the pitch. ''

Chairman Les Smallwood said ‘’ Stevie is an asset to the club on and off the pitch. He never takes a backward step and is formidable driving the ball in or tackling anything that is in front of him. The club is really pleased at securing his signature for such a long term deal and we can’t wait to see him grace Derwent Park until at least 2024’’
