Town travelled to South Cumbria for this latest derby match. Unfortunately, they were completely outclassed and outplayed in every department by a rampant Raiders side who appeared to be able score at will.

Ahead of Sunday’s fixture with Swinton Lions, Town coach Dave Rotheram urged his players to “turn Derwent Park into a fortress” for visiting teams. However, injuries to key Town players were likely to influence the outcome of this fixture.

Injury hit Town travelled to unbeaten and top of the table Halifax for their next game in the Northern Rail Cup giving a selection headache for coach Dave Rotheram. Halifax played at a pace and tempo that Town could not live with.

BOTH teams were keen to get back to winning ways following Haven’s thumping at Halifax and Town’s poor display against Keighley, both in the Northern Rail Cup the previous weekend.
