Injured forward close to joining full training!

On re-signing for Workington Town, Dave Weetman said:

'I’m delighted to have re-signed for the next 2 seasons.

This club has been great with me in every aspect since I arrived so I couldn’t wait to re-sign. They have supported every part of my recovery ever since the day it occurred and have assisted me in recovering in Newcastle with additional physiotherapy ahead of a return to pre season training. 

I literally cannot wait to represent Town and rewarding my head coach and his faith in me in the Championship division. 

Short term, I am looking forward to fully recovering from my injury and getting back out there with the lads to show what we can do in a very tough division!'

'Unfortunately Dave’s 2021 season was cut short by a horrific ankle dislocation and leg break just as he was hitting his straps. He’s an athletic middle forward, who is aggressive and competitive. He is well into his rehab and should be running very soon and once he does that he’ll be into full training.

We’re all really excited to watch Dave fulfil his potential in 2022.'
