CAN YOU HELP US IMPROVE OUR FACILITIES?

Equipment, labour and materials required urgently to progress gym improvements!

Workington Town RLFC are aiming to start their pre season training in a specialised facility based at Derwent Park. Covid 19 has given the project urgency as we have to have self sufficient training resources and facilities meeting strict NGC criteria and protocol.

The old cafe space on the popular side of the ground is to be turned into a gym and wrestle room which is vital towards our preparations for the forth coming season. This will allow all the players to physically and technically prepare well within our own stadium and the ability to do so in a more Covid secure environment.

This new investment for the club alongside other improvements planned will not only benefit the first team squad but also our local community teams, players and coaches as the club continues to grow our relationships with our local clubs.

The equipment needed to kit out the Gym facility include squat racks, Olympic barbells, prowler sledge, dumbells & kettlebells, if you have any of these items available we would love to hear from you.

As well as the gym we are developing a purpose built wrestling facility room that will need to be fitted out with specific wrestling matting. The Workington Town Board of Directors have allocated an initial budget to start the project and develop the facility. However more financial support needs to be found to meet the full facility requirements. The performance team is therefore looking to engage with local business for potential sponsorship and assistance with the fit out.

If you can help in anyway please contact our Strength and Conditioning Coach Matthew Johnson who has further details of the items we require, Matthew can be contacted on 07894584828 or by email mattjonno@btinternet.com

Thank you
