Calvin Wellington signs for 2020!

Workington Town are pleased to announce the re-signing of centre/winger Calvin Wellington for the 2020 season.

The speedy three-quarter came through the academy at St Helens before joining Welsh rugby union side Dragons. Wellington added speed and strength when he joined Town halfway through the 2019 season.

Head coach Chris Thorman said ‘We’re really pleased that Calvin is with us for 2020. When he played last year he gave the team a real boost and gave us some real quality on an edge. As an outside back he has a lot of the physical attributes needed to succeed at the highest level. If he has a strong preseason I am confident that he can be one of the best centres in the competition.’

Calvin said ‘ I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Town last season and that made the decision to sign on again very easy. It’s a great club with talented players and an excellent coach and coaching team. I look forward to getting a good pre-season under my belt as we look to challenge for promotion again next season’’
